The FC520H Datafort intercepts traffic between a Fibre Channel initiator and Fibre Channel target. When an initiator client wishes to read or write the DataFort intercepts and enforces an internal allowed information flow list and then either encrypts (for writes) or decrypts (for reads) to/from a specific Logical Unit Storage device. When the target is a sequential (tape) device, the TOE is able to sign data with an HMAC-SHA-512 engine in the SEP. (The TOE is also able to perform an authentication protocol with Fibre Channel hosts based on an administrator entered password).
