Integic: Workflow Activator

Workflow Activator is an integral part of Integic Corporation’s e.POWER^© suite. Workflow Activator is designed for use with document management software. Workflow Activator provides a graphical user interface that permits users to receive and route documents from the document repository along procedural workflow paths (process maps).

Three additional e.POWER components are used in conjunction with Workflow Activator: WorkManager Builder, Application Builder, and WorkPlace Manager.

• WorkManager Builder is used to construct electronic workflows, or process maps, that describe the organization’s business processes. WorkManager Builder also provides the capability of including custom intelligent agents in a process map. An intelligent agent can be developed to perform a specialized operation automatically on workitems during processing. Process maps developed in WorkManager Builder are then used by Workflow Activator applications for electronic distribution of workitems. Workitems are basically folders that contain documents from the document repository. Index values are assigned to fields that have been developed for the application using Application Builder. In most circumstances, process maps are developed by an administrator or an Integic representative.
• Application Builder is used to create applications for Workflow Activator. Using Application Builder, an administrator uses a template provided by Integic to develop the application. Index fields for folders are created, and users and groups are assigned access. All indexing fields and security access are based on your organization's business processes. An administrator usually performs application building.
• WorkPlace Manager is used to define departments, set up user accounts, establish groups, and assign security rights to reflect organizational structure. In addition, WorkPlace Manager provides the capability to configure many system settings, such as user passwords and automatic logon. Settings in WorkPlace Manager are usually established and maintained by an administrator.

Workflow Activator is the target of evaluation (TOE). The TOE consists of Workflow Activator, WorkManager Builder, Application Builder, and WorkPlace Manager. The TOE also includes document/records management software supported by Integic.
