The eTrust Directory comprises a suite of products that lets you build
a directory service for directory-enabled applications.
The product suite includes a high performance Directory Server,
graphical Directory Browsers, and a set of tools for importing, exporting,
and synchronizing data with other information systems.
eTrust Directory advanced features are:
- Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) support for access and
the X.500 distributed directory model for distribution,
which lets you build high capacity global directory systems.
- Its underlying information repository (in each server) that uses a
relational database to apply a patented meta-data design, thus
guaranteeing reliability and data integrity.
- Its ability to connect and integrate smaller scale LDAP Servers to
create a unified directory backbone service with legacy directory servers.
The system is scalable and robust, targeting the needs of large
corporate organizations, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), carriers,
the military, and the smaller office automation directory applications.
