CygnaCom Solutions operates two laboratories dedicated to providing fair, objective, and cost-effective assessments of all products submitted for validation.
The Cryptographic Equipment Assessment Laboratory (CEAL) is CygnaCom Solutions' NVLAP accredited laboratory. The CEAL is accredited to test hardware and software products for compliance with the U.S. Government's FIPS 140-1/2 and compliance with FIPS algorithms, such as the Data Encryption Standard (DES), Triple DES, Skipjack, Secure Hash Standard (SHS), and Digital Signature Standard (DSS).
The Security Evaluation Laboratory (SEL) is a certified NIAP Common Criteria Testing Laboratory (CCTL) authorized to conduct product evaluations according to the Common Criteria (CC) (ISO/IEC 15408) and the Common Evaluation Methodology (CEM) under the U.S. scheme. The SEL offers a full range of services to help clients navigate computer security standards and evaluation requirements, and is accredited to conduct independent evaluations up to Assurance Level 4 (EAL4) and can work with the NSA to evaluate products up to EAL7. The CygnaCom Solutions SEL was among the first CCTLs to be accredited by NIAP, in August 2000.
