Requirements Documents
The DoD Acquisition Process requires the development of Requirements Documents. With CygnaCom Solution's experience and expertise in the Acquisition Process, we can perform the activities necessary to assist in the creation of the following documents:
Initial Capabilities Document (ICD)
The ICD replaces the Mission Needs Statement at Milestone A of the DoD Acquisition Process. It describes the desired capability and performs a gap analysis. The ICD uses the results of the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS), CJCSI 3170.01D, functional area analysis and functional needs analysis to describe gaps in capability. The ICD also evaluates multiple materiel approaches and recommends a materiel approach.
Capabilities Development Document (CDD)
The CDD replaces the Operational Requirements Document (ORD) at Milestone B of the DoD Acquisition Process. The CDD clearly details: why we need the system; how it will be used; where the system will be located; who will need it; when it will be available; what the system is intended to do through identification of Key Performance Parameters (KPPs) and other required capabilities with supporting rationale; how the system will be supported; and how much it will cost.
Capabilities Production Document (CPD)
The CPD replaces the ORD at Milestone C of the DoD Acquisition Process. It captures the information necessary to support production, testing, and deployment of an affordable and supportable increment within an acquisition strategy. The CPD provides the operational performance attributes necessary for the acquisition community to produce a single increment of a specific system. The CPD refines the threshold and objective values for performance attributes and KPPs.
